Our signature work

How it works

A commission, not a checkout.

The configurator captures your location and personalization. A designer does the rest and sends artwork for approval before engraving begins.

See the full process
  1. 01

    Choose your place

Search a city, address, property or course and set the exact crop you want engraved.

  2. 02

    Design the piece

Select wood, format, size and framing, then add titles, dates, coordinates and markers.

  3. 03

    Approve your proof

A designer prepares the final engraving artwork and emails it to you before anything is cut.

Materials

Three woods, chosen for how they engrave.

Maple
Highest engraving contrast. Fine street linework stays legible.
Walnut
Lower contrast, more shadow and depth than line detail.
Dark Backing Layer
Creates depth rather than line contrast.

Real wood is naturally individual. Grain, tone, and engraving contrast will vary slightly from piece to piece. That variation is part of the character of your map, not a defect.

The studio

Legacy Maps by Ramsey Evans

Legacy Maps began with a drawer of folded road maps and a simple observation: the places people describe most carefully are rarely the famous ones. They are the street they grew up on, the lane to the cottage, the hole where the round finally turned.

The studio works the way a small architectural practice does. Each commission is drawn, refined, proofed with the customer, then engraved and finished in small batches. Nothing leaves without being inspected by hand.

Better than I pictured

Sent a screenshot from the county mapping site and a bad phone photo of our hand-drawn trail map. Got a proof back that made sense of both.

Layered water is worth it

Paid up for the two-layer version so the lake is recessed. In person the depth is obvious and it catches the light differently through the day. Photos don't do it.

Gift for my mother's eightieth

Her home town, the one she left at nineteen and hasn't lived in since. She traced the streets with a finger and told us a story about each one. That took about an hour.

Family owned, made in Canada

A family studio creating custom heirloom maps of the places that matter most.

What began as a shared passion for craftsmanship, design, and meaningful spaces became a way for our family to turn land, homes, ranches, lakes, cottages, and properties into lasting works of art. Every piece is custom designed from scratch by our team using detailed cartography, layered textures, and carefully refined engraving techniques to create maps that feel timeless and deeply personal.

We believe meaningful places deserve more than generic décor. Our work is designed to capture the character, story, and emotional connection behind a property, whether it is a family ranch passed through generations, a first home, a favorite lake, or land that shaped a family's history.

Each map is thoughtfully crafted through a highly collaborative design process and made to order with an obsessive attention to detail, materials, and presentation. No templates. No mass production. Every piece is commissioned and individually created for the customer it belongs to.
