The Ramsay Evans family
Legacy Maps is run by the Ramsay Evans family from their studio in Canada. What started as a shared love of craftsmanship, travel and meaningful places turned into a small business built around helping other families mark the moments that matter.
From sketching the first map to packing the final box, the work is hands-on, deliberate and personal — because the places people ask us to engrave are never just coordinates.
Family owned, made in Canada
A family studio creating custom heirloom maps of the places that matter most.
What began as a shared passion for craftsmanship, design, and meaningful spaces became a way for our family to turn land, homes, ranches, lakes, cottages, and properties into lasting works of art. Every piece is custom designed from scratch by our team using detailed cartography, layered textures, and carefully refined engraving techniques to create maps that feel timeless and deeply personal.
We believe meaningful places deserve more than generic décor. Our work is designed to capture the character, story, and emotional connection behind a property, whether it is a family ranch passed through generations, a first home, a favorite lake, or land that shaped a family's history.
Each map is thoughtfully crafted through a highly collaborative design process and made to order with an obsessive attention to detail, materials, and presentation. No templates. No mass production. Every piece is commissioned and individually created for the customer it belongs to.

by Ramsey Evans
A small studio, one commission at a time.
Legacy Maps began with a drawer of folded road maps and a simple observation: the places people describe most carefully are rarely the famous ones. They are the street they grew up on, the lane to the cottage, the hole where the round finally turned.
The studio works the way a small architectural practice does. Each commission is drawn, refined, proofed with the customer, then engraved and finished in small batches. Nothing leaves without being inspected by hand.
